6 Army Troops Killed in Samar Ambush

Palparan, commander of the 8th Infantry Division, admitted that 6 army troops in pursue of a rebels' surrender were killed during an ambush. They were travelling through Calbiga, W. Samar on Friday afternoon when at least 35 NPA attacked them.

The fatalities are:
  1. Lieutenant Williamson Tan
  2. Staff Sergeant Raul Cortina
  3. Staff Sergeant Lemuel Introdizo
  4. Captain Garido
  5. Pvt. Dionisio Acanto
  6. Pvt. Anob
In other hand, 2 soldiers in Agusan del Norte, a chainsaw operator in Surigao del Sur and a tribal chieftain in Agusan del Sur were killed by NPA in separate incidents.

Corporal Ernesto Juliano and Private Dioko Blang of the 30th IB Philippine Army were killed on April 4, 2005 by suspected NPA while patrolling Barangay Cuyago, Jabonga, Agusan Del Norte.

Johny Cainoy, a chainsaw operator shot dead by the NPA hitman in San Roque, Bislig, Surigao del Sur on the same day.

And Manobo Chieftain Manuel Sagod Perez was killed in Baranggay Pusissima Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

I really feel hard living here in the Philippines. Prices of commodities went high. Even if the prices of gasoline and other oil products went down by 1 Peso, but still their too high for me. Besides, even if the prices of these products will reach 20 pesos but I am sure that the prices of other goods will not go down. I already noticed it. Few years ago, gasoline reached the 56 pesos price. Then after several month, it went down to 47 pesos and stayed at that price for a time. However, even if the price of gasoline is in that level, prices of other goods did not go down even a Peso. But then when the price of gasoline went up to 63 pesos per litter, other goods' prices went up too so fast. And when the price went down to 60 pesos, none of the other goods has dropped the price.
