Ong: DENR's Greening of Nautical Highways

I was not able to attend the formal launching of the DENR project Green Philippine Highways held in Jaro covered court with the presence of Environment Secretary Angelo Reyes and local politicians last August 16.

I was able to catch-up with the activities over the radio and listening to the speeches of politicians salivating over their commitment for environmental protection is indeed disturbing. It can even be considered as a meeting d'avance or a political rally.

Gastroenteritis Outbreak In Cebu

It was on November 23, 2004 when the outbreak of Gastroenteritis hit Cebu. For only 6 days, there are already 239 reported cases and 2 of them have already died. The outbreak was traced to a leaking water pipe of the Moalboal Water System of the Local Water Utilities Administration, which was tested positive of contamination.
