Philippines recruits thousands of more policemen to fight NPA insurgency
The Philippine police said on Friday that it was set to add on 4,500 recruits to join the government's intensifying fight against rebels of the New People's Army (NPA).
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has started the rigid screening process for the new recruits to fill up personnel shortages, PNP chief Director General Oscar Calderon told a press conference here.
