Philippines ‘likely to face’ terror attacks
President Gloria Arroyo’s national security adviser yesterday warned that Israel’s military offensive against the Hezbollah in Lebanon would heighten the risks of terrorist attacks in the Philippines and the rest of southeast Asia.
“We have been able to address this threat in the Philippines, but with the new developments in the Middle East I think it’s going to trigger some kind of revival among the militants in our part of the globe,” National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales said.
